To coincide with the launch of Nike’s Elite Series World Cup boots, Wieden+Kennedy created an activation campaign that invited fans to write a message to either Wayne Rooney or Ashley Cole that would end up being stitched onto their boots, to be worn at the 2010’s tournament in South Africa.


Fans could enter the competition on Facebook, Sky Sports or directly from online banners.


We narrowed the entries down to a top 10 before the winners were personally chosen by each athlete and invited to present t

he boots in the Players Lounge at NikeTown London.
